Went to the Quilt show today!! yah

Eye candy galore.

Its great to be able to go to a show to see what all the local or brisbane shops have to offer and of course the style of fabric they carry. I do believe i'm slightly snobby where fabric is concerned. I don't know exactly how to describe i guess just modern.

But had some fun and picked up something i have been looking for a while. I was actually looking for a brand specific item "supreme slider"

But found a version called

Sew Slip II which is With Feed Dog Hole for Free Motion Stitching
A 12in x 18in sheet with a slippery top surface & a tacky bottom surface to hold it in place. It has a 1in x 1 1/2in rectangular hole allows all types of sewing to utilize the slick top surface as the feed dogs are available for guiding fabric. No adhesive to clean up. Washable & can be cut.

at the "Sew this and that" stall. I am happy to have found it. Its bigger then the supreme slider and alot cheaper. I have of course tried it already and it makes a dramatic difference. The sales lady said she doesn't take hers off. I think thats what I will be doing.

I also got a Tote pattern by Heidi Ho for my guild sewing. My next project. !!

Oliver's quilt is finished

Just finished making my bindings a fav fabric = Prints Charming - Raindrops - Turquoise

Love finishing a project now just to make the drawstring gift bag.... hmmmm whats next.

Very happy with the finished product..

Current Projects

My spare baby blanket.
(maybe spoken for waiting on confirmation) hehe

+ the extra I made nearly enough for 2 baby bento quilts. Still on my design wall. 2 more squares to finish this one + sashing & quilting.

my PS i quilt Pinwheel sampler. have to back & quilt this one. Was super fun did it last school holidays. The plan is it will be on my wall in my sewing room. But I don't have a sewing room at the mo. so I don't have a massive desire to get it done in a hurry... gggrrrrr

Finally made a decision and got my NEW MACHINE.... woohooooooooo

omgosh so relieved I finally have my new machine. Its so hard making the decision which machine to buy. Thanks so much to Angie at Sewers Delight at Browns Plains she gave me excellent service and is AWESOME.

this has everything I wanted

* large throat
* auto cutter and threader
* auto tension

Went to my first South West Brisbane Modern Quilt Guild meeting today.

Yip, So relieved that I'm not the only one who gets excited about fabric and patterns and going to spotlight and making stuff by hand or machine.

had a great time meeting everyone, hanging out talking about projects and seeing all the other creations in motion.

Will be looking forward to the next meeting.
